I was born and raised in Bucharest, spending my early years between Greek Myths, Russian and Romanian fairytales or obsessive listening of Tchaikovsky Swan Lake. Around the age of six, my parents sent me to Music School in Bucharest. Although I initially wanted to do ballet (because Tchaikovsky’s Ballets were my life and, subsequently, I had a crush on a Baryshnikov look-alike dancer), my parents fooled me to do piano instead, which proved to be a very wise decision. Over the next couple of months, the Baryshnikov look-alike graduated. So did my passion for Ballet, and piano became a fascinating, demanding, open and brutally honest companion ever since.
Over the next twelve years, I changed some four teachers, managing to graduate „George Enescu“ Music High school within Ileana Busuioc’s class. The decision to pursue a career in Music during those difficult years was the sole merit of my Musical Theory teacher, Daniela Bordei, my parents, Godfather and Viniciu Moroianu. Starting with 2001, I studied at the National University of Music, in Viniciu Moroianu’s class (Piano). In 2004, after winning an Erasmus Scholarship, I had the privilege to study with Karl-Heinz Kämmarling in Salzburg, and starting with 2001, I also received the priceless advice of such piano legends as Dmitri Bashkirov, Lazar Berman, Konstantin Scherbakov , Bernard Ringeissen, Leslie Howard, Rolf-Dieter Arens, Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, in Weimar, Engandin, and during the Salzburg Summer Academy. During my studies in Bucharest, I won and lost prizes at national and international competitions in Bucharest. Those that I won enabled me to play in such venues as The Romanian Atheneum, National Radio Society, Arcus Festival, Hungarian Cultural Institute in Paris, Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Mozarteum University Salzburg, and to play solo and chamber music recitals in tours in Spain, Germany, France, Austria, Holland, Israel, and Japan. Between 2005-2008 I was also a permanent collaborator of the National Radio Orchestra, performing a repertoire ranging from Bach Brandenburgic Concerti or Johannes passion until Contemporary Music, and recording for The Golden Phonoteque Series of the National Radio Society.
Between 2008-2012, I studied at the University of Arts in Zurich (ZHDK), in the class of Konstantin Scherbakov, where I finished both my Concert Diploma 2010 and Soloist Diploma with the highest honors. I also studied with Radovan Vlatkovic, Burkhard Kinzler (chamber music), Andre Desponds (Improvisation), Ulrich Koella, Daniel Fueter (accompaniament), Michael Biehl (Hammerklavier), See Siang Wong (Contemporary Music), and received further impulses from Beat Furrer, Catherine Vickers, Ronald Brautigam, Jean-Jacques Balet. In 2008 I was the official accompanist in the clarinet class of Fabio di Casola, and collaborated in master classes or in classes with such artists as David Zinman or Janos Balint. During my studies in Switzerland, I won scholarships from the Freundeskreis ZHDK, LYRA Foundation, Ilse Stammer-Mayer Foundation and Momentum Foundation. I also won prizes in the Marguerite Meister Competition and the Kiwanis Competition, and played around 200 solo or chamber music recitals in Zurich, Winterthur, St. Gallen, Geneva, St Moritz, at the Tonhalle Zurich, The Archipel Festival in Geneva (the concert, under the baton of William Blank, was also broadcasted by Radio Suisse Romande), the Schubertiade Festival in Zurich, Abendsfrueh Concert Series. In June 2012, I played the Ravel Concerto for Left Hand and Orchestra in Prague, with the Hradec Kralovec Symphony, under the baton of Johannes Schlaeffli, and also in 2012, I recorded for ZHDK Records solo and chamber music works of Erich Schmid.
